Our First Homeowner's Headache

The small leak that appeared in the basement bathroom last week didn't fix itself as I originally thought it would. Seth and I, having absolutely no experience with plumbing, diagnosed the cause of the leak as two faulty gaskets that attach the toilet to the floor. Surely replacing those gaskets would end the problem so off to the hardware store we went.

I can't tell you how shocked we were to find the leak had returned. It was finally time to call in the pros and Glen the plumber arrived on the scene shortly after. Glen determined the problem was either a clog in the pipes under the house or the septic system needed to be drained. He had to call for backup.

After uncovering the septic system, it was determined the problem is a clog in the pipes and the fellas from Darcy Construction are currently hard at work to clear that clog.

It's a bit of a relief to know that the septic tank isn't the problem but that doesn't answer the question of what and how this mysterious clog arrived. Of course, I have a theory as to the cause and her name is Kelly.

  12. Welcome to the wonderful world of home ownership fellas. Beeps and I had our front yard dug up a year after we moved in when the pipes literally collapsed! It's all a scam by the Realtors and Plumbers. They have some secret agreement on the side to make this shit happen as soon as you sign the papers.

Word to jdizzle. We received papers to repair/replace 10 blocks of sidewalk from the township 2 days after signing the papers . Few grand and many tears later, I barely walk on those suckas. Welcome home!
