What Do Me, Molly Ringwald, And Abigail Breslin Have In Common?

... We were all on Live With Regis & Kelly yesterday. Ok, so only Molly Ringwald and Abigail Breslin were actually guests invited to sit down for an interview. My boss, the Toy Guy, was also a guest and he was there with a bucket full of cool outdoor water toys for the summer. If you were watching closely, which I'm sure you were, you saw me standing aloof in the background during one of the shots.

I know the question you are dyeing to ask me is where will I be appearing next. I'm currently working on a real scene stealer in which I jump up and down behind the local Albany "news" reporter on location at the site of a fire. Throw Me The Chives, I'll Throw You The Whip

I can't imagine Harrison Ford is too excited about the Tater of the Lost Ark, Mr. Potato Head but I sure am.


The Tater of the Lost Ark is the latest Hasbro mash-up of popular film characters with the classic Mr. Potato Head. Tater of the Lost Ark comes complete with whip, fedora, leather jacket, and gold idol and is scheduled to be released in May. I'm hoping to get a first hand look at the action-spud next month at Toy Fair.

Another Day, Another Recall

With another big toy recall announced this morning, its going to be a busy and hectic day for those of us associated with the toy industry. For those that don't know, I work for a toy industry analyst and do a lot of writing for various toy and video game pubs. In case you are worried about the toys you are buying, all the damage seems to be linked to one factory in China and a yellow paint that they used on certain products. You probably won't here that mentioned on TV because they just want to scare us all into believing that the Chinese are trying to kill us by poisoning our toys. I'll let you know if I hear anything more about this.

I Like A Short Week

I'm finally back after an extra long holiday weekend. As I mentioned last week, Seth & I spent the weekend down south on the Potomac river. Aside from all that clean air reeking havoc with my allergies, we had a blast. Now that we are back, I need to take a vacation from booze for a while, well at least until the weekend.

I hope everyone had as much fun as we did over the weekend. Now that Memorial day has come don't forget the start of white pants season has arrived so wear them if you got them!

I'll fill you in on drunken weekend stories as I remember them. In the meantime, after playing hooky for the past few days, I've got a lot of work waiting for me on my desk, including this giant box from Hasbro's PR firm. The box is filled with the full set of Transformers products for the upcoming movie and I have a lot of transforming to get to work on.

HomerBot

Wow Wee, makers of the Robosapien, just unveiled the Homerspaien at London Toy Fair. Granted, this is simply a plastic Homer Simpson head on a Robosapien body with Homer's iconic blue pants and white shirt paint job but it still looks pretty cool. Adding to the enjoyment, Homersapien will be packed with classic Homerisms and should be available in time for this summer's movie's release.
